Despite its small territory of only 2 square kilometers, the Principality of Monaco continues to offer unique experiences for tourists and locals alike. Departing from Monaco, you can enjoy various pleasant walks and hikes along the azure coastline or venture uphill to admire the breathtaking views.
Coastal Path of Cap d’Ail
This is a hidden gem of a coastal path located by the sea, stretching for about 3 kilometers. After passing through the Fontvieille harbor, Cap d’Ail harbor, and Marquet beach, this path will gradually catch your eye. The coastline is well-preserved and incredibly beautiful, featuring exotic plants, dreamy villas from the early 20th century, as well as geological and historical wonders. The path extends along the Mediterranean, then passes through narrow passages leading to the secret Mala beach and cliffside cottages. One of the most beautiful palaces on the French Riviera, “Éden Palace,” is located here. Grace Kelly, Winston Churchill, and Sacha Guitry have also stayed there during their travels in Riviera.

Le Corbusier Path
On the other side of the principality, after passing the Monte-Carlo Beach Hotel, Cap Martin unveils a wild coastline, offering stunning views of both the sea and the principality. Cap Martin, along with Cap d’Antibes and Cap Ferrat, form a trilogy of great natural sites on the French Riviera. Cap Martin is home to extraordinary residences dating back to the late 19th century or the Belle Époque era. Not far from here is the Villa Cyrnos, once occupied by Empress Eugénie, the wife of Napoleon III, in the early 20th century. Along the coastal path, you can visit unique architectural ensembles, including Cap Moderne, which notably features the E-1027 villa and the Cabanon designed by Le Corbusier, testifying to the concept of small-scale housing and worth a detour. Following the sea, you will reach the other side of Cap Martin, all the way to Menton and even to Italy.
