Tête de Chien
The Principality of Monaco is located on a hiking route that connects Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, and France in the Alps. Starting from Monaco, you can enjoy the unparalleled panoramic view of the Principality from the Prince’s Palace Square. This path leads through Cap d’Ail to the village of La Turbie, with significant changes in altitude and breathtaking views. From the mountain top at an altitude of 550 meters, you can simply admire the beautiful scenery: to the east, you can see Monaco, Cape Martin, and Italy, three countries at a glance; to the west, you can see Cape Ferrat and Cape d’Antibes.

Mont Angel
Mont Agel overlooks the Principality of Monaco and has been a strategic location since ancient times. Since 1953, the flat top of the mountain has been used by the French Air Force as a radar station. After passing the Monte Carlo Golf Club, you can start this nearly 9-kilometer hiking journey, enjoying the unique landscape between the sky and the sea. The path climbs up the side of Mont Agel, with the Alps of Mercantour to the north, the pre-Alps of the French Riviera to the west, and the balcony of the Mediterranean to the east. On the way back, be sure to keep your eyes wide open! You might spot an elephant. The Fontbonne area is indeed a sanctuary where Princess Stéphanie adopted an elephant and also houses part of the Roc Agel royal domain, which was originally a military radio station during the German occupation and later reclaimed by France and Monaco to create Radio Monte-Carlo.
